On February 29, 2024, the Chicago Methamphetamine Task Force presented the “Don’t Die High” Community Town Hall which made a lasting impact.

A special thanks to our partners at the Chicago Department of Public Health, especially Antonio King, for their unwavering support in addressing methamphetamine and fentanyl use among Black gay, bisexual, and same-gender-loving men since 2019.

We also appreciate Dr. Maya Green and Alderman Lamont Robinson for their continued advocacy, Dr. Green’s enlightening presentation on meth and fentanyl, and Dr. Christopher Balthazar for sharing key findings from our community-wide survey.

We are grateful to Pastor Stephen Thurston and the New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church for hosting us and to every community member who showed up. Your presence strengthens our collective effort.

When we show up for each other, we build a stronger, more hopeful community. Stay connected for resources and updates.

WE UNCOVERED SOME SHOCKING TRUTHS ABOUT METAMPHETAMPINE USE WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY DURING THE TOWN HALL.
